George Cutajar

Mr. George Cutajar is the Director of the Standardisation Directorate within the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority. He is responsible for the implementation of European and International Standardisation in Malta and for standardisation projects to develop national standards. He has a MSc degree in Physics specialising in the field of Microwaves in Medical Applications. He is the current chairperson of the mirror national technical committee following international standardisation on Blockchain under ISO TC 307. Mr. Cutajar has over 17 years of experience in quality and environmental management systems development, implementation and certification. He is also in charge of a number of certification schemes intended to be implemented by the industry to minimise the adverse effects on the environment, to contribute to circular economy and to support sustainable development. These include EU Ecolabel certification, EMAS Verification and Organic Farming Certification.
