Ahmed W Ismail
Ahmed W Ismail is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of success in traditional finance and fintech startups. During his eighteen-year career to date, he was an investment banker for over 15 years and started his career as an analyst at Credit Suisse in London after graduating as an MEng (Hons) from Imperial College London with specialisation in Chemical Engineering.
Ahmed W Ismail later moved to Merrill Lynch (which was taken over by Bank of America) and was then hired in 2014 by Jefferies, the US investment bank giant, to lead the business as CEO for the MEA region.
Throughout his career, Ahmed has led the origination and execution of over US$70bn of capital markets and M&A transactions in emerging markets within the Technology, Healthcare, Power, Financial Services, and Oil and Gas sectors.
As the youngest regional CEO and regulatory head at Jefferies, Ahmed W Ismail oversaw and led the restructure and growth of the emerging markets business turning it from loss-making commodities trading entity into a leading investment banking, trading, and wealth management powerhouse throughout the Middle East, Africa and Asia with over US$35m in annual revenue.
After his time at Jefferies, Ahmed entered the crypto arena and went on to co-found HAYVN in 2017 which is the first and only fully Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) regulated institutionally focused digital assets platform in the Middle East.
After five years of operations, HAYVN is currently a global leading multi-billion dollar business and has seen significant growth in 2022.
Today, Ahmed W Imail is the CEO and President of FLUID – a liquidity aggregator that uses AI quant-based models to tackle fragmented liquidity in virtual asset markets.
