After serving as a Venture Partner and MedTech Advisor at CryptoOracle, Dr. Cahana joins Genesis Block as head of the Healthcare Advisory. With over 25 years of experience in clinical medicine, Dr. Cahana consults multiple private and public companies, start-ups, healthcare organizations and the United Nations Center for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT). Dr. Cahana advises on blockchain technology, digiceutical integration and healthcare redesign. He works with State and Federal agencies on healthcare policies and is a Subject Matter Expert for the Department of Defense, the Veterans Health Administration, the NFL Players Association, the Institute for First Responder Wellness, Bastyr University and supports the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI). After serving as Professor and Chief of the Division of Pain Medicine at the University of Washington, Dr. Cahana is an Affiliate Professor in Science, Technology and Health Studies, is co-editor of the textbook Blockchain and Healthcare (a HIMSS publication), a top blogger on blockchain and healthcare on Medium and has published over one hundred articles. He is a decorated Officer of the Israeli Defense Forces and received multiple awards, among them — the American Pain Society Center of Excellence; Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Best Practice; the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Innovation Health Care award; and the University of Washington President’s medal for remarkable leadership, social impact and public service.
